Looking back, Colorado should not have passed
Amendment 64 into law in 2012. The use of
#marijuana has a complicated history, and there are many reasons for this.
#Marijuana has widely been considered a recreational drug, and it is arguably one of the most well-known gateway drugs in the world today.
Several studies have conclusively shown that this substance has some severely debilitating side effects, for users at any age. Passing Amendment 64 made it possible for anyone to get marijuana, and deal with these unsavory side effects.
Also, since
#marijuana use became legal in the state, Colorado has reported a sharp spike in its homeless population, accidents related to driving under the influence, and more and more schools record
#marijuana use among their students. These are only a few of the many problems that can be directly or indirectly attributed to the legalization of
#marijuana in Colorado.
In retrospect, this seems bound to have happened. After all, what do you expect from a state where the number of #marijuana sellers is nearly double the number of Starbucks and McDonald's locations combined? What other outcome could there be when #marijuana gummy bears are available for sale on almost every street in the state?
Marijuana use may have its benefits, but there's no doubt that legalizing it has done Colorado a lot of harm. More than 30, 000 homes expose their kids to the second-hand smoke from this weed. What more evidence do you need?
The truth hurts, but it's high time we all faced it; Colorado is suffering greatly from the effects of #marijuana legalization. There are simply not enough benefits to change this fact.
