"Don’t lessen restrictions on abortions" Aug 15, 2024

Arkansas abortion laws were passed with the intent to protect both mothers and children's lives. The restrictions passed by Arkansas lawmakers shouldn’t be lessened.

Recently with Roe vs Wade being overturned, all abortions have been made illegal in Arkansas except for cases where the mother's life is in danger. Abortions cary risks to the mother as well. They can result in an infection or even damage to the uterus.

Many women are coerced into getting an abortion and wouldn't want to have one if they were not pressured to do so. We should not treat women who have abortions as criminals, but we should be supporting them in a way that keeps them from getting in situation where they feel like the need an abortion again.

Abortion restriction laws have no reason to be lessened because they save lives of women and children. Arkansas should be a model for abortion reform for the rest of the nation to follow.
