"Arkansas should lessen their #abortion laws" Aug 12, 2024

Enacting laws in a state serves not only to regulate the activities of people but also to protect the people’s interest. Although it may not be convenient for every individual, it should not be a burden to any group of people. This, however, has not been the case with the anti-abortion laws that have been reinstated in Arkansas.

Since the overturning of Roe vs Wade, it is illegal and Arkansas to get an abortion except where the mother's life is in danger. A woman will need to travel out of state if she wishes to have an abortion.

Forcing a woman to travel across state lines in order to get a medical procedure us putting undue burden on her. Arkansas laws should be lessened to allow for women who have been informed of all possible complications to get an abortion.

There may be diverse views and opinions regarding the anti-abortion laws in Arkansas, but we need to make sure we are not putting undue burden on our fellow Arkansasians.
