Vaccination is one of the most important ways to keep people safe with the emergence of diseases. The problem with people refusing to get a vaccination is that you risk other people’s lives too, as many diseases are contagious in nature. For instance, consider the example of COVID. When the COVID vaccines were developed, it causes huge challenges that many people refuse to get the vaccine shot, as it keeps the disease active in communities which results in more deaths.
A proper health plan requires reasonable efforts by the government to make vaccines available to everyone, and then everyone must be required to take it. If the government fails to provide and enforce vaccinations, it puts the whole country in a more dangerous situation.
Specifically, problems arise when the authorities fail to vaccinate children after their parents make poor decisions. Parents of children should not be given a choice whether or not they want vaccinations, especially considering many parents are not educated on the severity of the disease.
Similarly, those who do not have access to vaccination are also prone to danger, such as uninsured or homeless. For example, with the 500K homeless people in the US, it can not be expected that they will vaccinate themselves on a priority basis.
Without the enforced vaccination, children as well as poor people will not get properly vaccinated. This puts them at serious risk throughout their lives, as well as harms society at large.
