Some religions do not favor #adoption rights for gay couples. No doubt there are many reasons for allowing adoption rights to homosexual parents, but there is no clear reason for overturning the fundamental beliefs in our country in order to universally permit homosexual adoption. In many states, adoption agencies still have the opportunity to reject adoption application of gay couples due to the violation of religious beliefs.
Simply put, to preserve this country's founding principal of religious freedom, there is no space for universal adoption rights for gay couples.
While the US Supreme Court has made it legal for lesbian and gay couples to get married, adoption agencies don't have to allow them to adopt. As an analogous example, pastors and officiants are not forced to perform homosexual wedding ceremonies if they do not believe that they are proper. In the same way, religious adoption agencies do not have to provide adoption services to homosexual couples. This allows us to maintain religious peace and uphold the founding principles of our country. That is why in many states, religious freedom laws have been passed to enable private adoption agencies to decline gay couple adoption.
America is a melting pot of people and a melting pot of religions. So for the sake of peace and prosperity of our communities, it is a proper move to allow adoption agencies that align with particular religious beliefs to be permitted to deny based on sexual orientation.
We allow the American people to hold onto their own beliefs, and their own ideals. If we were to force these organizations to allow something that goes against their beliefs...well...that would be very un-American.
