Adding more Syrian refugees in the U.S. is a risk, just like it is in Europe where numerous recently deadly attacks have taken place (2014 in Belgium, 2015 in Paris, 2016 in Turkey, 2016 in Belgium, etc). The US would open ourselves up to possible threats by allowing a mass migration of refugees from Syria, a country where some of the people just want to kill Americans. There comes a time when the country cannot perform the proper screening and background checks on refugees, and we do not distinguish legitimate refugees from terrorists.
Syrians are part of the world's largest refugee crisis since World War II. Biden's administration can't ignore that refugees from the war-torn Syria presents a significant risk that a foreign terrorist might exploit humanitarianism to kill Americans on U.S. soil (just like they do in Europe). Former president Trump repeatedly called for common sense mainstream immigration reforms, such as ending chain migration and eliminating the visa lottery...reforms that would have greatly improve our national security if Biden followed them.
We cannot consider all people innocent victims who are fleeing dangerous situations. It is true that and confirmed by the U.S. intelligence officials, including former CIA Chief John Brennan, that many terrorists are using the refugee flows to infiltrate the West.
So, the U.S. should not grant asylum to more Syrian refugees escaping persecution because the national security risk is too high. We must protect the country from any kind of terrorist attack!
