Who would have a better chance at winning the #2024 General Election against Biden, Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis?

The next U.S. presidential election season is upon us. While there is still some time to sort through the list of candidates, now is the time to start asking who would be the best person to guide the country for the next four years. While the incumbent president Joe Biden is expected to win his party's nomination unopposed, two names have been dominating conversations as the Republican candidate: former president Donald Trump, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The question many are asking is, which one has a better chance at winning the general election when pitted against President Biden?

Many see Ron DeSantis as a charismatic individual with military experience who represents what it means to be a stalwart American hero in this day and age. His consistent message fighting “woke” culture has made him a powerful candidate against most Democrat competitors, often targeting the policies of Biden as supporting the “woke” movement. This has been well received by many of his conservative constituents, as evidenced by his landslide victory when he ran for re-election in 2022 for his governorship. He is also very skilled at fundraising.

Regarding Donald Trump, there is a reason he won the presidential seat in 2016, as he appeals to many conservatives. While his public appeal and popularity are not as high as they once were, the fact remains that he still has the hearts and minds of many Americans. Trump remains so beloved because he’s perceived by some as a leader who can restore a certain vision of American culture. The following he has amassed is still strong, and his sway over the Republican party makes him a fierce competitor to Joe Biden. All of that said, the former president has controversies that surround him, including the events of January 6th, 2021, as well as recent legal troubles such as the April 2023 indictment for 34 felony criminal counts.

The question for debate, who would have a better chance at winning the 2024 election against President Biden, Donald Trump or Ron Desantis?
