Alabama State Issue

Who would make a better representative to the #Senate from Alabama, Democrat Will Boyd or Republican Katie Britt?

Alabama voters will have several critical decisions to make in the coming election. Among others, they’ll have to determine who’ll be the state’s next U.S. senator on November 8, 2022. The current Senator, Richard Shelby, after more than three decades in office, will not be running for reelection. With the longest-serving U.S. senator from the state finally bowing out, this leaves the contest to be fought between Democrat Will Boyd and Republican Katie Britt.

Will Boyd is the metropolitan archbishop of Zion Ministries and the chancellor of St. James the Elder Theological Seminary. He beat Brandon Dean and Lanny Jackson in the Democratic primaries on May 24, 2022, to become the party’s official candidate for the U.S. Senate. When asked to define the main points of his agenda, should he emerge victorious, he said, “I believe every American deserves access to the best health care. I believe we must help teachers improve student success in classrooms. I believe in protecting American workers.” He also plans to fight to end voter suppression and promote environmental protection.

Katie Boyd Britt is the former president and CEO of the Business Council of Alabama. While she came out later than many of the other contenders in the Republican Party primaries, she still managed to win, after securing an endorsement from former President Donald Trump. As a former aide to the incumbent senator, she believes her work with the outgoing politician has given her insight into ways to make the lives of fellow Alabamians even better. Once in office, she vows to follow an Alabama First agenda that supports veterans, protects unborn life, caters to the national debt crisis, and protects the second amendment.

Now, voters in the state are asking, who would make a better representative to the Senate from Alabama, Democrat Will Boyd or Republican Katie Britt?
