For arguably the first time in nearly four decades, the candidacy to fill the Class III Senate seat from Alabama is actually going to be a contest. This is happening only because Incumbent Senator Richard Shelby has finally opted to retire upon the conclusion of the current turn. But regardless of how it came about, people from Alabama now have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to vote for someone who can do some real good in the state: Dr. Will Boyd.
To those who are wondering what makes Will Boyd the best fit for the office of U.S. Senator when compared to the other candidates on the ballot, the reason is simple; Boyd will bring a different kind of initiative to Washington D.C.
Voting for Boyd on November 8, 2022, means endorsing someone who takes kitchen table issues of the constituency to heart. He’s seeking the approval of the people in the coming election not because he’s after cheap fame or the desire to line his pockets. Rather, he wants to finally bring real representation to the State of Alabama. Having served in an elected office in the past, he understands keenly just how important it is to have an agenda based on the best interests of the people.
One of the biggest issues he plans to tackle is the palpable state of education in the state. Alabama’s leadership has stood by and watched while the quality of education declined to the point that the state ranks 47th when compared to the rest of the country. They’ve done nothing while students from Alabama have been exploited to the point of having nearly 50% more in student debt when compared to the majority of other states. Boyd sees where following such a path will ultimately lead which is why, as senator, he plans to do everything from protecting the funds for pre-college programs to introducing legislation that will reduce the cost of education and the cost of living.
Another area with significant room for improvement is health care in the state. Again, the condition of things here is horrible, to say the least. Everyone has kept mum while seven rural hospitals have closed their doors, access to health care has been more limited and the incidence of heart disease in Alabama has skyrocketed. No one in a position of power also seems to care that Alabamians have to cough up three times more in health care premiums compared to other states in the U.S. As the representative of the state in the Senate, Boyd will put things right and restore health care in Alabama once again. Not only does he intend to promote medical malpractice reform and support a more affordable health care program but he also intends to improve and protect Medicare and Medicaid. Unlike every other individual on the ballot come November 8, 2022, he realizes that access to quality health care shouldn’t have to be influenced by the size of one’s pocket.
Similarly, this Senate candidate has plans to enact positive change in the economic sector of the state as well. Residents of Alabama don’t have to be told that the walls are closing in on them in the job market. Not only have more than 160, 000 jobs been lost between 2019 and 2020 alone, Alabama currently boasts one of the highest poverty rates in the entire country. As of this very moment, no one has said or done anything worthy of mention to address this critical issue. Meanwhile, life is becoming increasingly unbearable for hardworking families in the state. But Boyd has a plan. Once elected into office, he intends to rebuild the economy of the state from scratch, enhance the supply chain in the state and strengthen trade law enforcement in Alabama, among other things.
The future that residents of Alabama have always wanted is already at hand. The only thing left is for voters to come out in numbers on election day and set it in motion. With Boyd in the Senate, the restoration of the state will be swift and methodical.
Boyd has a plan and he has the means to realize his goal of a better Alabama. So vote for Boyd to give him the platform to transform the state!
