Making Arizona a Great State Again with Sen. Kelly

" Sep 24, 2022

Following the special election that was conducted two years ago to determine who would complete the truncated term of the late Senator John McCain, voters in Arizona will have to decide who they’ll be sending to the U.S. Senate next on November 8, 2022. Even though there are twelve candidates currently in the running for the senate seat, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better candidate than Incumbent Senator Mark Kelly.

The proof of this lies in the fact that this senator has managed to achieve in less than two years what many of his colleagues couldn’t in two terms. The incumbent senator has helped Arizonan taxpayers get more than $10 million back, he’s helped close more than 4,000 constituent cases, and has introduced 21 different bipartisan bills and amendments. The numbers speak for themselves.

Mark Kelly takes a very hands-on approach when it comes to dealing with matters that concern Arizona because he holds the state close to his heart. That’s why within just a few months of assuming office, he had visited every county in the state and spoken personally with 85 mayors. Along these lines, it’s vital to mention that, while he was campaigning the first time around, he promised to be completely transparent with his official schedule. He has kept this promise, as you can see everywhere Kelly has been to so far as well as what he plans to do next on his official website. This is undoubtedly a first from an Arizonan senator and is standing proof that the man is an open book.

As someone very close to his constituency, it wasn’t hard for him to see the areas in the state that needed immediate and long-term relief. This drove him to be even more active in the U.S. Senate. The result of this was that he supported a bipartisan infrastructure law that would improve infrastructure like high-speed Internet access, provide more modernized ports of entry, create better road networks and provide stronger water systems. In addition to the above, this bill will also considerably enhance how the state fights wildfires and make it considerably easier and safer to ply rural roads in Arizona.

Arizona is one of the border states of the country so it’s only natural that national security is taken a little more seriously here. Kelly has not shirked his duty in this regard either. Upon entering the Senate, he joined the Armed Services Committee. When he was appointed, he stated that "Arizona trains some of the best pilots and intelligence officers in the world, it develops and tests many of the advanced weapons systems needed to outpace China and Russia, and it is home to a community committed to our national security and to supporting service members and military families." In this position, he has been publicly hailed for providing critical insights that help strengthen national security and provide a competitive advantage over the nation’s adversaries. In December 2021, he also oversaw efforts to upgrade the infrastructure at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, a key outpost for the country.

Kelly was also a very present force that people in the state could look up to during the height of the pandemic. He helped pass the American Rescue Plan which not only helped Arizonans to get their vaccine shots more quickly but also optimized the speed with which residents of the state were able to get direct relief funds at the time.

The list goes on and on about the good that this man has done. However, Kelly believes that his mission is still far from complete. He believes that another term in the U.S. Senate will help him create more jobs, restore the economy of the state and lower the cost of health care.

Is there a good reason his agenda for a better Arizona shouldn’t be supported?

Personally, I don’t think so.

So together, let’s vote Mark Kelly for U.S. Senator on election day and bring more wins to this great state!
