Neither Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) nor Republican Herschel Walker cleared 50 percent in the November 8th election, so there will be a head-to-head runoff election on December 6th for the U.S. Senate position representing Georgia.
Rev. Raphael Warnock became the U.S. senator for Georgia following former Senator Johnny Isakson’s decision to retire due to health reasons. The special election held on November 3, 2020, was indecisive, but Warnock later won the runoff held on January 5, 2021. If reelected into the office, Warnock says he’s going to protect and grow Georgia’s agricultural economy, push environmental conservation policies, effect a massive criminal justice reform and tackle the various problems impeding access to quality and affordable health care. He also plans to protect voting rights and work towards building an economy that works for everyone.
Walker, the Republican nominee for Georgia’s U.S Senate seat beat 5 other candidates at the party’s primary election on May 24, 2022. An alumnus of the University of Georgia, the Hall of Fame professional football player was appointed by former POTUS Donald Trump to the Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition in 2018. If voted into the senate in the coming general elections, Walker has pledged to support small businesses and American workers, defend conservative family values, and secure the nation’s borders. He’s also promising to defend the police, protect the constitution, and keep the American dream alive.
Faced with these two candidates, who would make a better representative to the Senate from Georgia, Democrat Raphael Warnock or Republican Herschel Walker?
