There’s a saying that change is good. But if everything that has transpired since the U.S. Senate transitioned from the last dispensation to this current administration is anything to judge by, the world can see as clear as day that change isn’t always equivalent to progress. While contemplating counterfactual statements won’t do much good now, it is imperative to point out that things wouldn’t be this way if Kelly Loeffler had won the election held on January 5, 2021. Alas, that was not meant to be. What the good people of Georgia got instead is a worrying individual with truly disturbing thoughts about what America should be.
There is one good thing about Incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock. Although his time in the U.S. Senate has been short, he has managed to become a sure party-line vote for President Biden, regardless of whether the POTUS’s policies will make the lives of everyday Americans more meaningful or lead us down the path of ruin. Beyond this, he has proven to be nothing but a disappointment to the people of Georgia.
With November 8, 2022, fast approaching, the one solace to look forward to is that there’s the possibility that the entire country can bring about a change for the better in the U.S. Senate. For the State of Georgia, the person flying on the winds of transformation is Herschel Walker.
Walker is a far cry from the mediocre politicians who seem to make up the stock of our leadership these days. He was an American footballer who played in the NFL for 12 seasons. His very life typifies the American Dream and he’s dedicated to opening the future of the state and the country to the same amazing opportunities he had to become who he is today.
When I talk with some friends and neighbors, the one key issue they bring up about this individual is that his speeches seem rough around the edges. He seems to lack that way with words that we’ve come to associate closely with politicians. And, up to a point, what these observers say is quite right.
But personally, I hope that things stay that way. From 2020 till today, Georgia has had the opportunity to see the handiwork of an articulate politician and preacher. And what did we observe? A man who can “articulately” justify endorsing one massive spending boondoggle after another and consistently neglect to pay his ex-wife child support.
It’s time we consider letting someone who doesn’t talk like he’s making a sales pitch or trying to incite a civil riot to take the wheel. Walker speaks like a regular guy, one without guile, someone you can share a coffee with who’ll listen to understand not listen to respond. As the 50th vote for the Democratic Party in the U.S. Senate, Senator Warnock’s actions have a profoundly debilitating effect on not just the state but the country at large. And what makes it worse is that, just like the president he endorsed, Warnock has failed to deliver on even the most basic promises.
In his simple and direct way, Walker wants to take the conservative family values of Georgia back to the U.S. Senate. He wants to support small businesses and make life more hospitable for American workers. He wants to see the nation become more energy-independent instead of crippled. Walker wants to protect the second amendment and keep us safe.
These are some of the basic yet important things that make us who we are.
We finally have someone who can make a difference.
So, vote for Herschel Walker in November and proudly be one of those who make the State of Georgia great again!
