"We would be best represented in the Senate by Roth" Sep 28, 2022

The Idaho people will have an opportunity to choose their representative through the ballot on November 8, 2022. For far too long, Idahoans have been yearning for real change. That real change can only be achieved by voting for Democrat David Roth.

For a long time, Idahoans have been subjected to politics that only favor politicians without minding the citizens of the state. The people who have been entrusted with power have opted to get into arguments on issues that don’t have a significant impact on people’s lives and ignore important legislation. That is exactly what Roth wants to change, to save Idahoans from the suffering that their previous leaders have subjected them to.

David Roth understands Idaho well because it is where he grew up. He has been serving the community as the director of the Bonneville Youth Development Council, which has been offering service to the community for over 20 years intending to fight substance use among the youth. He has also been a member of the Idaho Falls Soup Kitchen, and served in the Community Coalitions of Idaho as the treasurer. Roth has been a dedicated community servant in Idaho for years. If given a chance in the Senate, he can do more for the Idahoans.

When it comes to politics, Roth is not a newbie. He entered public service in 2006. He has had the privilege to serve as a precinct captain and District district vice chair, and recently he became chair of the Bonneville County Democrats. In 2020, he opted to vie for the Idaho State Legislature. He wants to do away with a deadlocked Congress. The majority of current leaders in the government are not solution seekers but obstructors. Electing Roth to the Senate will be a step further in transforming into the kind of leadership that Idahoans deserve—solution-based leadership.

Roth is a strong critic of the perception of a "safe seat," and he considers it an enemy of democracy. According to him, "every politician should feel that every vote and debate is a job interview for their next election. They must feel that they have to earn their seat every day."

If you want a leader who believes in the ability of Idahoans and has a vision of empowering them, then Roth is one of them. He believes that there is a need to show the link between the work that is going on in the communities and the relationships with elected leaders. Roth has demonstrated that the community leaders who are working on the ground are doing excellent things, in spite of the government. Think for a moment about what he could do as an elected leader in Idaho.

Roth's opponent, Senator Mike Crapo, has been representing Idaho in the U.S. Senate since 1999. However, there are things that he has not done right. For instance, he has received criticism for some of his actions in Congress, including his vote against the CHIPS Act and his vote for the bipartisan infrastructure bill, something I believe Roth would have taken a different step on.

On the issue of inflation, even though his main opponent is blaming the inflation on Biden's administration and believes that only the Republican Party and Republican Senate can save the situation, Roth acknowledges the inflation problem facing the nation and that there is a need to look into the root cause.  He believes that there should be additional investments in the local communities. His main rival, Crapo, backed tax cuts passed during Trump's administration that added $1.5 trillion to the deficit over the next ten years.

On healthcare market issues, Roth believes that since the U.S. is the largest buyer of prescription drugs worldwide, they need to wield additional power over the pricing of drugs, and he is pushing for a decrease in the price of insulin. During a debate that brought together all candidates for the Idaho Senate seat, Roth stated, "Healthcare needs to be affordable. We need the support of the Affordable Care Act... and options to reduce those costs for Americans across the country." This is an idea that resonates well with the majority of Idahoans.

Idahoans should vote David Roth to the U.S. Senate because apart from being a community servant, he has a well-laid-out vision for the Idahoans and America as a whole.
