"Duckworth – Leading Illinois to Complete Greatness" Oct 06, 2022

It’s once again election season in Illinois and voters will be marching out in thousands to choose who’ll represent the great state on the floor of the U.S. Senate. But when November 8, 2022, finally arrives, voters should know that – as has been the case for two elections running now – the best fit for this position remains none other than Incumbent Senator Ladda Tammy Duckworth.

This outstanding individual once famously said, “I had my legs blown off in Iraq, and because I had my legs blown off in Iraq, people are listening to me. I’m not going to get my legs back, and that’s fine, but if that gives me a platform to talk about the things that are important to me, like education and jobs, that’s great.” And every single day, through her life and her actions, she displays in its entirety what a true American should be.

When Duckworth initially joined the U.S. House, she was tasked with serving on the Armed Services Committee. There, she quickly became an unequivocal champion for job creation to better the lives of working families. One of the most important bipartisan bills she introduced towards that end was the Friendly Airports for Mothers (FAM) Act. This bill allowed new mothers more easily gain access to clean and accessible lactating rooms as they traveled through airports. She was also instrumental in the passing of the bipartisan Clay Hunt SAV Act, a bill that has been responsible for saving the lives of countless suicidal Veterans. In addition to this, she played a key role in passing the Troop Talent Act, thanks to which, returning Veterans now have a greater hope of securing employment in the private sector.

She also worked valiantly to reduce the incidence of waste and fraud that had become rampant in the Pentagon and the government at large during that time. One noteworthy thing she did along those lines was to pass a common-sense provision that would protect billions of taxpayers' dollars that had been initially earmarked for redundancies on military uniforms.

In 2017, she took her passion and message to the U.S. Senate for the first time. And, just like everyone predicted, Duckworth was nothing short of sensational. Unlike many of her counterparts, she chose to adopt a practical, common-sense approach to dealing with the problems that affect the quality of life of the average American. Duckworth made it her mission to revitalize the crumbling infrastructure in the state and the country at large. She not only helped protect Illinoisans from lead poisoning but also saw to the growth of the manufacturing industry in the state as well as job creation. In the Senate, she continued to champion the cause of supporting, protecting, and keeping the hopes of the people of the state alive. To that end, she even founded the first-ever Environmental Justice Caucus. When she gave birth in 2018, becoming the first serving U.S. Senator in history to do so, she further emphasized her devotion to making family-friendly policies that would contribute to the well-being of the public on a fundamental level.

Looking at the track record that this astonishing individual has set in only a few years, it’s plain to see that the State of Illinois can’t do much better than Tammy Duckworth right now. She has overcome every kind of challenge and still chooses to remain true to not just herself but also her calling to fully serve her constituents.

So, in the end, there really isn’t any reason not to let her continue her great legacy. With Duckworth as U.S. senator, Illinois will only continue to prosper and grow.
