"Holland for Senate - Putting People Over Politics" Oct 07, 2022

Like a few other states this mid-term election year, Kansas will have to elect one member to represent the jurisdiction in the U.S. Senate. As a voice that’s only interested in echoing the will of the people, Rev. Mark Holland is arguably the best candidate that Kansans can vote for when November 8, 2022, finally arrives.

For what seems like forever, the people of Kansas have had to content themselves with representation that doesn’t reflect their interests or drive the state as a whole forward. Rev. Holland is one individual who’s keen to put an end to that. And, to achieve this great goal, he isn’t afraid or ashamed to talk about the pressing issues that affect the quality and well-being of life of the residents of the state.

Health care is a particularly worrisome challenge in the state and country for him. He went on record to say, “We’re the only developed country in the world where families are worried about health care. People are not able to take care of their families the way they need to because we’re not controlling costs. I will help control costs in D.C.” Rev. Holland has always believed that health care should be treated as a basic human right, not as a privilege or luxury. He wants to put an end to the incessant closure of what limited rural and urban hospitals there already are. To achieve this, he believes that the only sustainable recourse is to expand Medicaid and Medicare and he fully intends to fight for this if elected into office.

On reproductive rights, Holland is of the belief that it should be everyone’s fundamental right to decide whether or not they want to have children. To meet this end, he has vowed to work towards making birth control more affordable as well as supporting the rights of women to have an abortion. He has come out to clearly state that it’s wrong for the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade and strip a woman of her constitutional right to abortion. Once he has been elected into office as a U.S. Senator, he’s planning to work towards having Congress codify women’s right to choose into federal law. He further stated, speaking on the August 2 vote on the right to abortion in the state, “The idea that women don’t have the right to make their own decisions about their body is, again, that’s looking backwards to the 1950s. The majority of people in Kansas came out in force and said, not only did they vote no, they voted hell no.”

Holland also plans to play a very active role in combating climate change if given the opportunity to serve as senator. He sees the opportunity to invest in emerging environmental industries as a win-win both for the country and environmental preservation efforts. Holland believes that we can have a thriving, livable planet without having to sacrifice our vibrant economy. And, he’s more than prepared to work towards realizing that goal too.

The good revered is also going on the attack on the matter of criminalizing social issues in the state and the country at large as well. From his point of view, passing punitive laws will only aggravate rather than lessen the incidence of the social issues in question. He’s all for finding a progressive and meaningful policy that will eloquently address these challenges in a fashion that sustainably benefits society.

At this point, one thing that’s clear is that the perspective of this individual is radically different from what the people of Kansas are used to. Yet, it’s also important to point out that this different approach may just work because the current line of action has apparently run its course.

Kansans need someone with a fresh point of view to tackle the modern issues that are likely to become even more pressing in the near future. The incumbent senator isn’t that person because he’s clearly content to thrive on division and extreme partisanship.

Voting for Holland in the coming election is a giant step towards liberating the state and helping Kansas rediscover its true value and worth.
