"Continuing a great legacy with Chuck Schumer" Sep 21, 2022

The people of New York will be called upon on November 8, 2022 to fill one of the 35 seats in the Senate that will be vacant in 2023. And once again, anyone who’s committed to seeing the continued progress of New York State will be naturally compelled to vote for Charles Ellis Schumer.

More popularly known as Chuck Schumer, he was first voted into the U.S. Senate in 1999. He has successfully held that seat since then. The coming election will mark his fifth re-election bid. The serving Senate Majority Leader, Schumer has done a lot of good for New York. Some notable feats of his include delivering $20 billion to the state post the 9-11 terror attacks. As many sources would attest to, this proved critical to the steady recovery of the jurisdiction. He was also pivotal in helping New Yorkers recover in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. In this effort, he helped the state secure a $63 billion relief package.

Perhaps Schumer’s biggest legacy is the fact that throughout his leadership, he continues to remain close to the pulse of the people, helping him quickly see things that many others in his position might’ve missed. As a constant presence in all 62 counties of the state, Schumer shows with his actions how much he cares about New York State.

Even setting aside the past accolades of this exceptional individual, there are several things about his agenda for the future of the state and nation that makes him more than deserving of another tenure in office.

Arguably the biggest of this is his stance on early childhood education and care. Schumer is a valiant champion of access to high-quality education for young children. Through programs like Head Start, he’s able to assist with providing support for not only early education but also emotional and nutritional health as well. His efforts in this area also stretch towards providing improved social services and offering special services for children with disabilities.

Along these lines, he’s also working with other members of the Senate to ensure that individual student debts are significantly reduced and, in cases where it’s possible, completely canceled.

Schumer also understands that the country is still a long way from recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why he’s set into motion several Covid Relief programs that include direct stimulus checks, funding for vaccines, state and local reliefs, school funding, and expanded unemployment insurance, among others. Although it’s certainly true that these efforts alone aren’t enough to return the lives of Americans to pre-Covid standards, the fact remains that it shows that the brand of leadership that Schumer practices puts the people’s well-being first.

This senator isn’t silent over the issue of climate change either. Schumer believes that an aggressive policy has to be adopted to quickly tackle the rapidly escalating crisis. So, in addition to devising a sustainable American jobs plan and pushing for clean cars for the country, he intends to follow the THRIVE Agenda to chart a better course for America.

As an individual who’s repeatedly shown grit and a determination to push for the best interests of the people come rain and shine, Schumer is not just right for New York but also for America. When general election day finally rolls in, well-meaning New Yorkers know who they’ll be casting their vote for.
