"Krystle Matthews best represents South Carolina" Sep 30, 2022

Krystle Matthews is the right person to represent South Carolina in the U.S. Senate.

Matthews boasts of a vast experience in public office, and she understands the responsibilities awaiting her if you give her your vote. She first came to office on November 12, 2018, as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives. At the Statehouse, Matthews has been at the forefront of championing issues affecting women, veterans, infrastructure, and economic development. Matthews has also been a member of various committees, including the Medical, Military, Public, and Municipal Affairs Committee, where she served as a secretary, and the Operations and Management Committee, where she held secretary and treasurer positions. If South Carolina needs an aggressive and determined leader, then Matthews fits the bill. She has been in the trenches, trying to juggle life, family, and work. Her resilience as well as the resolve to find solutions to problems facing working people's lives, rather than acting on the bare minimum, will be an excellent turnaround for South Carolina and get them out of the previous six years that were dominated by elitism and opportunism. Voting for Matthews means that South Carolinians will be sending a true working class to D.C. to ensure their job is done.

Matthews is basing her campaigns on policies and not just mere promises. Based on her track record in public service, she is a leader who ensures what needs to be done gets done. On immigration issues, I believe she will push for the passage of various bills including the Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act, the American Families United Act, and the American Dream and Promise Act. Each working South Carolinian and American deserves to enjoy a dignified life without fear of separation from family. That will be possible with Matthews as a Senate representative. She is pledging to take some actions concerning immigration issues if elected, including facilitating legal immigration options for people attempting to escape poverty, seeking to fill needs in the U.S. labor market, coming up with means to request asylum closer to home rather than the southern U.S. border, streamlining time taken to clear those seeking asylum by calling for additional resources needed to process claims, addressing the main cause with other governments to make it safer, as well as assessing aid flow.

The majority of Americans have been victims of the financial wreckage that came as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The government data shows that low-income workers, women, and minorities were disproportionately affected. As a result, Krystle Matthews is promising to reform credit scores to reclaim the situation. She is pledging to push for various measures as a remedy for this situation, including creating a not-for-profit public credit registry as opposed to the existing three profit entities that are controlling the market, restricting credit score information use to only credit-related decisions, reducing the amount of time negative information stays on your report, limiting the reporting of medical debt, and coming up with a new calculation formula not calculated based on a non-zero scale. This will make access to credit easier and more affordable. It can only be a reality with Matthews in the U.S. Senate, courtesy of your vote.

On women's rights, Matthews understands the challenges facing women in South Carolina and America as a whole. She is pledging to push for the codifying of the ERA, codifying reproductive freedom, enhancing protection from domestic violence, and passing equity legislation. Under Matthews's representation, women will be safe. That's why she deserves your vote.

Matthews was born in Ohio to a Vietnam War veteran. Her family origin can be traced to the Lowcountry, the place where her ancestors first stepped when they entered America. So, she is now on a new path that will lead her to Washington, D.C. as the next Senator of South Carolina. Be part of history by making her the first female US Senator from South Carolina through your vote.
