It’s a midterm election year and, once again, Nevadans will be beckoned on to leave whatever it is they might be doing on November 8, 2022, and cast a vote for the next U.S. Senator from the state. But the big question is, who should we be voting for? And why exactly do they deserve our vote?
Let’s speak facts. Things are not working as they should. Over the past two years, it feels that we’ve been regressing rather than progressing. Two parties form a duopoly in the country. To the best of my knowledge, the existence of these parties is so that electorates can see clearly which sides align with what values. From there, deciding on where to go is supposed to be easier and more straightforward for voters. If that was the intent, then both establishments have failed woefully.
With the exception of a few politicians like Adam Laxalt who actually attacks issues concretely, things have degenerated between the two parties to the point that some people now get into office based solely on how much hate they can spew at the other side. And while it might be fun for some people to watch adults throw ad hominems back and forth like children, it’s important that we not forget what’s at stake; the future of our dear country.
We see this clearly in the upper chamber where policies that can truly add value to the lives of Americans ultimately get rejected for no other reason than because the “other side” proposed it first. How long is that supposed to continue? Until the country has nothing left?
If we’re to make any headway, everyone has to remember that we’re Americans first and partisans second. And in doing so, we have to let whoever we vote for represent those ideals.
That’s why the best person to vote for in November is Laxalt.
This individual has repeatedly shown that he has the capacity to consistently put aside party differences and cooperate with all sides for the common good of the people. As a man of faith, a father, and a war veteran, he understands what true service means and he can put that to good use for us here.
Laxalt’s name on the ballot for U.S. Senate is a golden opportunity for Nevadans to do things differently for once. We can back this candidate to help restore things to how they used to be and even better.
While it might not seem like it, the bitter truth is that the entire nation is on a clock to make this transition. The cost of gas in Nevada right now is one of the highest in the nation. The inflation rate is 8.3% and doesn’t appear ready to drop significantly anytime soon. People are losing their jobs in the state and across the country.
While all this is happening, the people who should be helping are still trading insults in the hopes they’ll make major news headlines or trends on social media. And slowly, a great nation continues down a destructive path.
But with Laxalt as an empathetic intermediary, a compromise that benefits everyone, most importantly us regular people can always be reached.
Adam Laxalt will get my vote for U.S. Senator in November. I hope you consider giving him yours too.
