While it may seem like cancelling student debt is a noble cause, the reality is that it would come at a high cost. The burden of this debt cancellation would ultimately fall on taxpayers and harm our overall economy. Furthermore, it sends the message that personal responsibility and hard work are not valued. We must instead work towards finding solutions that promote financial responsibility and incentivize education, so that we can create a stronger and more prosperous society.
