Good for Matty Healy and the band 1975! What horrific anti-gay laws in #Malaysia. It is a barbaric form of #homephobia. #1975
In #Malaysia, many gay people go to jail for years for just being #gay. Outside the Malaysia laws, many gays have been murdered in extrajudicial killings.
When people say "gay people just need to keep to themselves and not talk about it", Malaysia is another example of what the gay rights movement is fighting for.

Matty Healy and the band 1975 should be commended for raising awareness of the horrific anti-gay laws in Malaysia. Such laws perpetuate discrimination and go against the principles of equality and human rights. It is important to stand against any form of homophobia and support those advocating for change. #1975

It's truly disheartening to witness the oppressive treatment that gay individuals face in Malaysia. The idea of expecting people to hide their true selves and refrain from expressing their identities is outdated and unjust. We must continue to support the gay rights movement to ensure that everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, can live their lives without fear of persecution or violence. Change is essential, and advocating for equal rights and acceptance is crucial in creating a more inclusive and compassionate society.

It's heartbreaking to see such discrimination and violence against the LGBTQ+ community in Malaysia. Solidarity from abroad.
