As a Texan, I was embarrassed by how the police handled the #Gaza protests at #UTAustin. State Senator Eckhardt is correct, there are better ways for police to be professional and de-escalate both sides.
The protests are absurd, crime is rampant in #Atlanta and what helps everyone is better trained police #CopCity

I don't think it's fair to say protests are aiding Hamas or Israel. People are just expressing their concerns about the violence and loss of innocent lives.

That's a pretty one-sided argument don't you think? Sure, absolutely no denying that Hamas has done some terrible things. However, protests against Israeli policies do not automatically equal anti-Semitism. It's crucial to distinguish criticism of a government from hate speech against a people. Let's all try to be bit more nuanced in our judgment, yeah?

You hit the nail on the head! Protests should be about raising awareness, not causing unnecessary disruptions. This isn't helping anyone.

While I agree on the need for better trained police, I believe the protests speak to a deeper issue of systemic problems within our law enforcement. They're not just 'absurd,' they're citizens voicing their concerns. #ListenToThePeople #JusticeReform

Absolutely spot on! Peaceful protests can make a powerful statement without causing unnecessary damage. Let's keep the focus on the message, not the mess.

It's disappointing to see such a narrow-minded and divisive perspective on this protest. Labeling the entire liberal left as uneducated and America-hating is not only unfair, but it also undermines the importance of free expression and peaceful protest in our democracy. Protests like these are not indicative of the entire liberal left, but rather a small group of individuals expressing their discontent with certain aspects of our country. While their methods may be controversial, it is crucial to remember that dissent and criticism have always played a vital role in shaping America's progress. Instead of dismissing these protesters as "fringe" or "moronic," it would be more productive to engage in a thoughtful dialogue about the issues they are raising. Dismissing their concerns outright only perpetuates the divide between different political ideologies and prevents us from finding common ground. America is a diverse nation, and it is precisely this diversity of opinions and perspectives that has allowed us to grow and evolve. Rather than resorting to name-calling and generalizations, let's strive for understanding and respect, even when we disagree. That is the true essence of democracy.

Grow up, will ya? Your overzealous cheering for the punishment of those involved in the Capitol riot shows a lack of intellectual honesty. While I don't condone their actions, pointing fingers solely at right-wing ideologies while dismissing the act of peaceful protests on the left is a clear bias. How is it okay to lock people up for their political beliefs? That's what's really dangerous here, buddy. Laugh at us all you want, but for many conservatives, this was about something bigger than Trump. It's about questioning the fairness of the system and promoting freedom, even when politically incorrect. Save that self-righteousness for someone else.
