I understand the concern for a secular society, but it's important to recognize the historical context in which the United States was founded. The founding fathers sought to protect religious freedom and avoid government interference in matters of faith, rather than promote a completely secular society. The goal was to ensure that no specific religion would dominate or be imposed upon the citizens. This delicate balance continues to ensure individual liberties and the diversity of religious beliefs in our country.
