ViewExchange is a platform for members to have civil discourse. As supported by ViewExchange’s Terms of Service, if there is a violation of policy we may review and take action, including removing content, suspending users, terminating users’ access to the platform, and more. If you see something or someone on ViewExchange that violates our policies, please report it here.
Below are guidelines for the ViewExchange community:
Keep it civil
ViewExchange provides a place for people from across the political spectrum to have respectful dialogue. We will ban users who bully, slander, use hate speech, threaten others, or incite violence.
Don’t post vulgar or obscene content
ViewExchange will ban users that post content (images, videos, links to websites, etc) considered vulgar, obscene, overly-upsetting, or overly-offensive. Also, please keep the profanity to a minimum.
Don’t sell stuff
ViewExchange users get annoyed if they believe you are just trying to sell them something, or promote your business. Don’t do it.
Don’t post fake news
Do not promote synthetic or manipulated media that causes harm. Also, don’t post outlandish conspiracy theories that are unsubstantiated…ViewExchange is a place for dialogue on legitimate issues.
Respect intellectual property
Do not violate intellectual property rights of others including copyrights, trademarks, plagiarism, etc. For example, post your own beliefs instead of just copying and pasting someone else’s opinion. If you do want to reference a third party article or opinion, label and hyperlink it when posting.
Keep opinion scores legit
Opinions typically receive a higher score if users that agree with that issue side believe the opinion is high quality. Do not filter to one side of an issue to provide low scores to opinions just because you don’t agree with that side of the issue. If we believe that type of behavior is happening, we will ban the user or take some other type of action.
Write thoughtful opinions
You are welcome to share your viewpoint throughout the website, including adding opinions on issues. To help maintain quality for the ViewExchange community, please ensure opinions directly answer the issue question and are reasonably well written.
