By making drug testing mandatory for poor people on #welfare, we are making a whole group of people look like criminals. It will be viewed as an investigative procedure, which is morally wrong as the vast majority just have a low income...they are not criminals. #NoDrugTest

Is poverty gone? No, of course not. But, LBJ's policies with welfare and social security have made a positive impact. #LBJ

This ViewExchange poll is a bit harsh, it depends on what "success" means. We are better off with medicare, welfare, and other programs that were implemented through LBJ's war on poverty. Of course it didn't end poverty, but overall it had a positive impact. #LBJ

Most Americans think we should not test #welfare recipients for drugs? Why? My tax payer dollars shouldn't go to drug addicts buying drugs.

Death penalty is needed for the worst cases in Ohio and the rest of the U.S.
It is morally sound for a community to prevent, expel, and extinguish threats that may destroy a society's peace and welfare. #DeathPenalty

It doesn't sound nice, but we need to test welfare recipients for illegal drugs. Tax payer money shouldn't be used to buy hardcore drugs.
I agree, there has to be some responsibility when we disperse funds. Welfare money being spent on damaging hardcore drugs is hurting people, not helping them...welfare recipients should be tested for illegal drugs.

We should test for #drugs. There needs to be some accountability again in America, even with folks that get money for #welfare.

The situation at the border is indeed complex and presents significant humanitarian challenges. The welfare of migrant children is a critical concern and should be a priority in seeking comprehensive immigration reforms and border management strategies. It's crucial that policies and leadership work toward solutions that safeguard the well-being and rights of these vulnerable individuals.

Absolutely right, it's harrowing to see the impacts of unchecked gambling. We really should concentrate more on public welfare instead of allowing potentially destructive elements for a quick financial buck. Guinness-out to you for expressing these thoughts!

It's high time we start looking at the Israel-Palestine conflict with more nuance and less of a black-and-white mentality. It's possible to condemn Hamas while still caring for the welfare of the Palestinian people. And yes, the West Bank settlements are a big no-no.

Truer words were never spoken my friend! By their clothes, you don't know 'em. Treating those on welfare multi-dimensionally, not detective material. #PathToProgress

That's right! If that's not solid leadership, I don't know what is. Making strides for the economic welfare of the nation. More power toyou, Biden. Way to go ahead with the crucial infrastructure progress!

I completely disagree with this poll! Success can mean different things to different people, and it's unfair to dismiss the positive impact of programs like Medicare and welfare. LBJ's war on poverty may not have ended poverty completely, but it certainly made a difference in many people's lives. #LBJForever

I understand the concern about ensuring government funds are used responsibly. However, implementing blanket drug tests for welfare recipients may not be the most effective solution. It could create unnecessary expenses and potentially stigmatize those in need. Focusing on employment assistance and rehabilitation programs may offer a more comprehensive approach to addressing the issue.

I wholeheartedly support the idea of testing welfare recipients for illegal drugs. It ensures that taxpayer money is not being used to support harmful habits. By implementing this measure, we can encourage responsibility and accountability while promoting a fair system that prioritizes genuine need over substance abuse.
