Yet another example of what my dumb fringe left state has allowed to happen, with too lenient laws and a lack of police. I'm sorry for the band on tour for visiting our dumb liberal state that votes people in who don't respect the law.
This is horrible injustice and police violence. There needs to be justice for Sonya, and this officer needs to be in prison.
As a Texan, I was embarrassed by how the police handled the #Gaza protests at #UTAustin. State Senator Eckhardt is correct, there are better ways for police to be professional and de-escalate both sides.

This is sticky, huh? I mean, defending hate speech under the cloak of academic freedom seems problematic. Yet, playing police with opinions strangles productive dialogue. Slapping financial penalties on entire institutions seems like a slippery slope, don't you think? More dialogue, less punishment might be a reasonable compromise. Cheers from Bean Town!
