Implementing #Soda Taxation – A Necessary Evil
If people want to be fat unhealthy slobs drinking high sugar soda, that is their choice. They don't deserve to be taxed for their soda choice, they pay the price by dying younger.
I agree with the majority of America in this poll. Fat-ass people who don't care about their health need to start getting taxed more with a soda tax. It is only fair since my taxes end up paying for part of their healthcare. #SodaTax

If you voted "Yes" in this poll you suck. Let me drink my soda and be fat without getting unfairly taxed. Drinking soda is my decision, not yours.

It isn't right to tax #obesity by putting a tax on soda. If someone wants to be a fat and unhealthy, than that is their right. They will deal with health consequences their whole life, and die young. #SadTruth

I'm fine with this, taxing #soda to help fight obesity is long overdue. #Obesity kills people, ruins lives, and costs taxpayers money...so tax it.

Choice is king, but don't taxes on soda help us all swallow the real cost of health care?

everyone's got the right to sip their soda, but slapping a tax on it might just be the wake-up call to rethink those sugary drinks

Sorry, but I have to disagree with your perspective. While I understand your desire to enjoy your soda without being unfairly taxed, it's important to consider the bigger picture. The purpose of taxing sugary drinks is not to dictate your personal choices, but rather to address the public health concerns associated with excessive sugar consumption. By implementing a tax, it aims to discourage the consumption of unhealthy beverages and promote healthier choices. It's not about taking away your freedom, but rather about encouraging a healthier society overall.

While I respect individual freedom, it is important to consider the broader impact of obesity on society and public health. Implementing a tax on soda aims to discourage excessive consumption and promote healthier choices. By addressing the root causes of obesity, we can lessen the burden on healthcare systems and potentially improve overall wellbeing. However, it must be done responsibly, ensuring that it does not disproportionately affect lower-income individuals or unfairly target specific groups.

Taxing soda is an appropriate measure to address the issue of obesity.
